Product Specifications

Each removable Alka Jug filter produces roughly 300 litres, which equates to five months of drinking water for an average person.

Replacing the Cartridge

There are two ways to check the cartridge life. The first way is to use a pH test drops. To do this, test a small sample of the tap water and then test the Alka Jug water for pH and compare the two. If there is only about 1pH difference between the two samples, then it is time to replace the cartridge. This method provides a real assessment of the remaining life of the cartridge's capacity to alkalize.

The second way is to use the Drinking Chart to check the cartridge life. Approx 300Ltrs or 3 months

We have done away with the LCD life indicator as this is not that accurate and at time it needed to be replaced, a solution that we did not find sustainable, therefor we have improved the system with a simple guide that is provided in the packaging with each Alka Jug. Here is our new Alka Jug manual, see attached. There you can see a schedule to read how many weeks your cartridge will last depending on the amount of people drinking from it and also whether it is also used for cooking. (please refer to the second page)
